TOOLS FOR SCHOOLS
Are you a teacher or parent or do you spend time with children? Do you care about the environment?
Do you want to help children and their families better understand the environment and our effect on it? Would you like Giki to visit your school for an assembly to help children and staff kick off a Palm Oil Action plan? If the answer is yes – please get in touch! We’ve got loads of activities and action plans for children and their communities to get active on environmental issues.
Our Tools for Schools kicks off with Palm Oil. We tap into our work used to build our palm oil detector to provide activities to teach children about palm oil in our cupboards and bathroom cabinets. We look at its environmental impacts, deforestation and what we can do about it! Activities range from art and creative work, to data crunching and film making. It provides children with tools to make a difference themselves!
The tools are easy to follow and we have provided lots of background and links to help answer those tricky questions.
We believe that if we all do small things, that can amount to something much bigger – for adults and children alike.
So join us! Help your communities find out about positive action that can really make a change!
Email us to receive your Tools for Schools and find out what else is going on in schools and youth groups across the country.
And if you are looking for new tools on environmental issues – do ping us and we’ll do our best to help.
“It was a privilege to have Jo Hand, the co founder, of Giki travel up from London to meet the children. Jo’s story is inspirational as is her passion to help people, through the Giki App, make small informed changes that will ultimately help our environment’
